By far, my favourite scene from Monty Python’s Meaning of Life was a little 1-minute clip stuck in the midst of the movie entitled “Find the Fish” because, quite frankly, it mirrored the reality of my life at the time. Whenever I see that clip come across the telly, I’m magically transported back to the surreal landscape that was the early-’80s for my fiends & I when such tasks as finding the fishy or being on the road we knew where we’re going to from fortified with a ravenous flisk of McWhiskey, a legend of stunt fries and some Istanbul chews for the drive supplanted sex as our chosen leisure activity. Ah, the fond memories of youthful innocence. *sigh*
