Something REALLY annoying going on at the Rachel Aldana website. I have seen this ‘trick’ on other websites too but I thought I’d report it here. I get ‘update email’ about new sets Rachel has done. Now I’m not a member, I’m not a big ‘joiner.’ I am satisfied with samples. I clicked some sample pics and I get sent to the ‘join now’ page.
If you try to up Page Back to get out of the join page you get this stupid pop-up pasted on top of your browser that says “Don’t you like ________?? Don’t you want to Join??” This time it said Rachel, it happened with someone else not long ago.
This would not be bad except that it does NOT LET YOU GO!!! There’s no ‘close’ button. You cannot close the browser window even. There’s no way to even go back and join as if this kind of entrapment does anything but turn you off. Uh-uh. I don’t know when this type of trap started becoming the standard but it’s pretty desparate. I have to use <ctrl. + + del to get the task manager to get out of it. It freezes everything. It’s a stupid idea and it’s not done right and won’t let you go. VERY annoying. I can tell you that even putting something that wretched in place is going to keep me from joining … permanently.
