As a UI designer, I gotta say, bad choice. The actual content of the site is lost. You have so much wasted space. The site only takes up, at most, a third of a screen (assuming a 4:3 aspect, which is not even common.)
Don’t add another column, you don’t have the space for it. Utilize the wasted space, when you add columns to a layout like this, you destroy its purpose (your content should be in the middle 3rd of the screen, not squished to a sliver) You are clearly limiting your self with wordpress (and no, I don’t need to look at the source to see that, its clear evident by your generic template layout.) At least get a template that does screen scaling.
